A Long Overdue Update

A Long Overdue Update

Hello again, book lovers. Sorry it’s been so quiet in here but I’ve spent the bulk of the past two months in the hospital and wasn’t able to post here very much. I am pleased to say that, failing any more complications or surprises, that I am on the mend and ready to get back to work making beautiful handmade literary jewelry for all of you obsessive book lovers, readers, and bibliophiles. I am in the process of getting the C. S. Literary Jewelry Etsy shop back up and running. I am not 100% there yet but I have some great Mother’s Day gifts, teacher appreciation gifts, and graduation gifts for book lovers posted and available for purchase in the shop and I expect to have more of your favorite book jewelry back in stock in the next few days.  I am planning a Grand Reopening Sale when my shop is fully stocked and officially back in business so be sure to check back here (or subscribe to my newsletter) to get more details about that when they are available. I am also in the process of writing up book reviews for all the books I read while I was recovering, so stay tuned for those.

In the meanwhile, I want to thank you all for your patience and for the good thoughts / messages of encouragement many of you sent via Facebook and Instagram while I was sick and stressed. I really appreciated it!

Happy reading!

P.S. I WAS able to post to Instagram and spent last month celebration National Poetry Month by posting a different poem or quote from a poem each day. It was pretty great and definitely worth checking out. If you don’t follow me on Instagram yet, you can see my posts here.

Ready For Our Close Up…

Hello again poetry lovers! As many of you know, I am utterly obsessed with T. S. Eliot’s poem, The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock, and so I was very excited when I heard that Cheekybats Productions was making a short, independent film based on the poem. From everything I’ve read and seen, (including this teaser for the film ), the production promises to be gorgeous and will feature original Prufrock – inspired music and artwork by a wide range of talented musicians and artists.

And if all this wasn’t exciting enough,  I am thrilled to announce that our Tea Lovers’ Charm Necklace will be featured in the film!!  (#ReadyForOurCloseUp #GonnaBeAStar #SoExcited)

If you would like to be a part of Prufrock: The Film. They are currently looking for extras and crew members and you can also help fund the film by supporting their Indiegogo campaign.

In addition to the satisfaction of helping Prufrock come to life, there are a wide range of incentives being offered for Prufrock supporters, including tickets to see the film, some of the artwork featured in the film, and Prufrock – inspired jewelry from C. S. Literary Jewelry, including this exclusive J. Alfred Prufrock Mermaid Brooch.

Other incentives include a set of each of our J. Alfred Prufrock – Inspired Literary Note Cards:

J. Alfred Prufrock Teacup Note Card – Among the Porcelain / Among some talk of you and me…

J. Alfred Prufrock – Coffee Lover Note Card – I have measured out my life in coffee spoons…

And our new J. Alfred Prufrock Necklace and Ring, featuring literary quotes from the poem:

J. Alfred Prufrock Adjustable Ring – Do I dare disturb the universe?

J. Alfred Prufrock Literary Necklace – Let us go then, you and I

Feeling Poetic

It’s been a very exciting (and poetic) time here at C. S. Literary Jewelry so I thought it would be a good time to touch in and give you all the latest news.

Take Your Poet To Work Day

Last week, we celebrated Take Your Poet to Work day and by all accounts, everyone (and their poets) had a wonderful time. Emily Dickinson, Edgar Allan Poe, and Rumi all got new threads for the occasion and, with the exception of Walt Whitman, (who was rather a bad influence), the poets were all extremely helpful. They did tech support, helped with the filing, brought peaches to snack on during the commute, and helped pick out some good books at the library.

Thanks to everyone who participated and congratulations to Kristina who won our Take Your Poet To Work Day Giveaway!

New Arrivals / Sale of the Week

This week, our obsession with poetry continues with a 20% discount on all our handmade literary jewelry inspired by poems and poetry and two new designs inspired by the famous poem, The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock by T. S. Eliot. As you may have heard, I am utterly obsessed with this poem and I am already planning on Pruf – rocking my new jewelry at the NYC Poetry Festival this weekend.

New York Poetry Festival

Last but not least, we will be ending our very poetic week at the New York City Poetry Festival. The event promises to be an amazing two days of poetry reading, art installations, and really cool events for poetry lovers and I can’t wait to check it out! Hope to see you there!
