A Tale of Two Events…

It’s been a busy couple of weeks here at C. S. Literary Jewelry with back to back craft fairs and events, the Sachem Library Fall Festival and the 15th Annual Long Island Women’s EXPO.

Sachem Fall Festival

First up, Rob and I were at the Sachem Fall Festival which was held at the Sachem Public Library. I love doing events at libraries because that’s where we find our tribe – the book lovers and bibliophiles that love books as much as we do – but this event was extra special because this was the library that made me a book lover. This is where I got my first library card when I was very little and I cannot tell you how much time I have spent here – both as a kid obsessively taking out the latest Babysitter’s Club books and now as an adult. And it just seemed like a perfect fit to bring my handmade literary jewelry to the place where my love affair with books began! I was also thrilled to carry a selection of Novel Creations gorgeous, gorgeous book purses. I always tell people how beautifully my jewelry and Karen’s purses go together but now they could see them together in person!

The day was lovely – we couldn’t ask for better weather or for a better spot. Our table was right under a shady tree, the perfect place to stop and chat about books while shopping and I had a great day meeting and chatting with all the wonderful folks who stopped by our table! The only way the day could have been better was if I had managed to sneak away to see more of the event – from all accounts there was much fun to be had – but there’s always next year!

Long Island Women’s EXPO

Next we had the Long Island Women’s EXPO at the Middle Country Public Library. This was our third time exhibiting at the Women’s EXPO and it was our best year yet. We always have a blast at this wonderful event but this time around it was even better because I had a chance to explore some of the other tables (and do a little shopping myself). Here are some of my favorite tables.

Now that the festival and the EXPO are done, it’s time for me to take a little break. I’ve got a cup of tea and a great book with my name on it! But before I go, I want to say thanks to the Sachem Public Library, the Middle Country Public Library, the Miller Business Center, and all the wonderful volunteers who made both the Fall Festival and the Women’s EXPO such a delight to participate in. I can’t wait for next year! And a very special thank you to everyone who stopped by our table. It was lovely meeting you!

    • Thanks! My husband actually made most of my display pieces, including the dress form busts that I have all the necklaces on. They came out great and made it really easy to spotlight all the different products.

  1. I should never have clicked on this. Anything literary, particularly jewelry, presents a source of weakness. LOVE YOUR THINGS, and will mark this for my Christmas list. I also love that this post is from a Women’s Expo. I’ll be heading to one in Philadelphia in November. XOX.

    • Hi Carrie! Thank you so much for your kind words about my jewelry. I am so glad you found us. Since you have a weakness for literary stuff, may I suggest that you sign up for my newsletter? You’ll get updates about new products, sales, giveaways, etc. and a 10% discount for my Etsy shop. If you are interested, you can subscribe here: http://eepurl.com/5nA8X

Thanks again for visiting and enjoy the PA EXPO!

  2. Love your work, and the photos. I love anything literary (English teacher during the day:) and will mark your site for my Christmas shopping–for myself, of course. Ha!

  3. Great to see a show taking place, outside, in good weather! By the look of it a good time was being had by all. Certainly enjoyed reading all about it – hope you enjoyed the tea and the book, eventually!
